They can cook also: Zenith University College retain title in Cook2Save contest

Zenith University College retained their title in the second edition of the culinary contest ‘Cook2Save’ competition held in Accra over the weekend.

Zenith won the heart of patrons and judges to sweep the top award during the exciting cooking competition held at the Liman Hall, University of Ghana on Saturday.

They beat off competition from host University of Ghana, University of Professional Studies, College of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management and Marshalls University College.

The University of Ghana won the popular votes but that was not enough to win them the ultimate after placing a surprise third.

The judges took into consideration timing, organizational skill-set, presentation, creativity and tastes amongst others to determine the winning institution.

It was a day full of fun as patrons were treated to some sumptuous meals from the five participating institutions.

An initiate of Rite Multimedia, this year’s competition will benefit New Horizon Special School in Accra as they will receive products and cash from sponsors.

Reggae and dancehall artistes IWAN entertained the crowd with some smooth music.

The five participating institutions were supported by top chefs from some of the finest hotels in the capital such as Alisa Hotel, Best Western Premier, Tulip-Inn, Novotel and African Regent.

The 2015 edition of ‘Cook2Save’ contest was sponsored by Prestige Commodities Ghana (importers of Three Dolphins Rice, Banchee Rice, TMT Tomato Paste) with support from Binatone, Indomie Instant Noodles, Platinum Orthodontist Services, Morning Fresh Dishwashing liquid by PZ Cussons, Onga, Access Bank and powered by Rite Multimedia.
