The second edition of the show dubbed “Eze and Friends Party” was held at Samini’s pub, DanceStardom, located in Sakaman near Dansoman on Saturday August 30, 2014.
The show was put together by Jonathan Nwadinobi known in music circles as Eze and supported by his AfroFusion Band.
Eze tells GhanaGist.Com that, Eze and Friends is an idea to unite musicians who are mostly close to him and also build the “strength of their friendship”.
Dressed in all green in Super Eagles jersey to represent his nationality; Nigeria and supported by his Afrofusion Band (who were both dressed in Black Stars of Ghana and Nigeria’s jersey), Eze wowed the patrons. He opened his performances with the popular song El Shaddai by Amy Grant.
When he realised that, the audience had joined him, he switched to “Rivers of Babylon”, a Rastafarian song written and recorded by Brent Dowe and Trevor McNaughton of the Jamaican reggae group, The Melodians in 1970.
The show then started officially! His first song was “Africa Unite” which talks about Africa unity. It was followed by “Uredia”, “Nwanyi Oma” and others.
Eze was supported by Nyamekye, a budding music talent, veteran Abrewa Nana, Episode, Jupitar, Tinny, Andy of Mentor Fame, Mix Masta Garzy, Kesse, Kwame Quarzzy, Bernice Chioma, the winner of 2014 Ada Ibo, Nigeria.
The maiden edition was organised on July 26 at The Zone, a popular joint in Kasoa opposite Amanfrom.
Watch out for the date for the next edition as Eze and his Afrofusion Band will be performs at the annual La Homowo Street Carnival on Friday, September 5, 2014.
