Noella Wiyaala has released on the Djimba World Record label her ground-breaking music video “Make Me Dance” shot in the studio and on location at Pram Pram. The video, which features the multi-talented singer in scenes shot underwater and dancers from the Henokami Culture Troupe from New Ningo, was directed by Mr Chaplin with the song recorded and produced at Genius Selection studios.
The Grace Jones look-a-like from the Upper West, whose singing style has been likened to Tina Turner and Angelique Kidjo said: “I want to create work that reflects my traditional Ghanaian origins as well as being accessible to an international audience and this is what we have tried to do with Make Me Dance.”
Noella Wiyaala became known to 9 million TV viewers when she shot to fame with her electrifying performances as a member of Black n Peach, the winning group in the 2012 Vodafone Icons Mixed Edition TV Reality Show. The singer added: ““This does not mean I’m parting ways with Black n Peach. We are still a group and are working together to bring out music that represents us as a group in terms of our beliefs and motivations.”
Noella Wiyaala is currently performing a live show twice a month in Tema with the dance group which is seen as a template for a full scale production destined later in the year for a tour of the North and finishing at the National Theatre, Accra.
