It’s that time of the year, where the smartest brains in Ghana battle for full sponsored Post Graduate scholarships worth over GHC 600,000 in the UK.
Season 6 of the award winning educational reality TV show, The Challenge, has been launched in a short ceremony at the Tigo head office in Accra.
The show is a British Council Ghana initiative produced in partnership with GhOne Television and sponsored by telecommunications giants, Tigo.
“The Challenge” which is in its 6th edition is an educational reality show that seeks to encourage and reward academic excellence, creativity and a passion for continuous professional and leadership development in the youth in Ghana.
The show over the years has seen Ghanaian University graduates attend various universities including the Robert Gordon in Aberdeen Scotland, the University of Westminster in London, Thames Valley University and London Metropolitan University, all in the UK to pursue various post graduate courses.
This year, the winners will again win full scholarship to study in prestigious universities in the UK.
Over the past five years, Tigo has been a major player in the Ghanaian education sector. In his speech, Jesse Agyepong, Head of Marketing at Tigo Ghana said, “Through our sponsorship, we have contributed to create a pool of future leaders and professionals in Ghana who are passionate, innovative and determined to succeed.”
According to him, Tigo is excited about creating The Challenge platform which gives the biggest post graduates opportunity in Ghana and also identify best talents from the various universities across the country.
Speaking at the launch, Prince Anyetei Adjei, winner of The Challenge 4 confirmed how the show has impacted positively in his life. He consequently advised Post Graduates students to take advantage of the show and be part of this year’s edition.

Auditions begin on October 18, 2014 at the British Council, Accra and television airing scheduled to start shortly after.
