Poet/songwriter Nenebi says the Antichrist will be a Ghanaian. He made this claim on a new single, 6ix 6ead6 (Six Heads).
With the lyrics, “…really Under Satan’s Authority (U.S.A) are the politicians who are running games on our minds, blaming each other for our problems as an escape from solving them. If you won’t solve our problems, why ask us to give you mandate to. With that said, will you believe me if I told you the Anti-Christ will be from Ghana?” Nenebi laid the basis for his claim and make references to the Big Six, the national currency, the national Independence Day, the nation’s legal age of consent to back his claims.
6ix 6ead6 (Six Heads) is one of the three single from the poet’s upcoming album, Scar on My Face, that were released on Saturday 21 September, 2013 on his newly-created website, www.nenebi.com. Afrorock-influenced, #HereNow and Asian music-influenced How She Lost It are the other two singles. 6ix 6ead6 (Six Heads) has however been sent out to various media and download outlets as his third single after No Explanation and it’s hiphop version, We High which featured a rap verse from Ayigbe Edem.
The afro-reggae influenced Six Heads features dancehall starlet, Myron AK on the hook with the poet doing two very heated verses which aside the Antichrist claims, touched on various political and social issues including the infamous “Ashaiman Springs”, the controversy surrounding the naming of the Ghana’s presidential palace, Trayvon Martins’ murder case and ended with a reference to the 1968 book, The Beautyful Ones Are Not Yet Born, written by Ayi Kwei Armah with the lyrics, “Ayi Kwei Armah lives on, the beautiful ones are now born.”
The 23-year old poet has been in an entertainment journalist and publicist from the age of 19 working as a reporter for Hi Newspaper, Phamous TV (on Viasat 1) and as part of the communication team for Obour’s campaign for MUSIGA presidency. He also worked on the teams of other top artists including Samini, Becca, Praye and Bandex Productions.
His poetry career, which kicked off early this year, has so far produced a Kobi Rana-directed video, Just Tell Me, and several singles including Every Woman and ECG Love (An Azonto Poem).
