Stanbic Bank Ghana has reiterated its commitment to supporting institutions that actively promote, advocate and facilitate leadership in the country.
According to Mawuko Afadzinu, Head of Marketing and Communications at Stanbic Bank, progress and creativity are always achieved on the back of good leadership, and the bank is always gratified to associate itself with institutions that make this a reality.
He made this statement when Stanbic Bank Ghana presented a cheque of 20,000 Ghana Cedis to the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) to purchase 12 laptop computers the College needs to boost its Information Technology Infrastructure for academic and administrative purposes.
“We are doing this presentation because of our commitment to security and quality leadership at all facets of this country, Africa and beyond. One of the key elements in the transformation of Africa is how we are led and we are supportive of that in every possible way. In addition, we are also supportive of the latest trends in ICT. That is why we are investing our resource, personnel and capability,” Afadzinu said.
The donation was in response to an appeal made by management of the College for corporate support to improve its infrastructure.
The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) was established in 1963 to train officers of the Ghana Armed Forces and allied officers of Africa in command and staff responsibilities. In recent times, the College has expanded its academic division to take up a Master of Science Degree Programme in Defense and International Politics.
Air Vice Marshal Issifu Sakib Kadri, Commandant of the GAFCSC, pledged the institution’s commitment to promote excellence and professionalism among servicemen in the country and its affiliates. He also commended Stanbic Bank for the kind gesture.
“Stanbic has always supported the college and today is just one of such significant steps. This technology will not only benefit the army but also the general public as well,” he said.
Stanbic Bank has over the years been committed to creating prosperity and giving back to the people of Ghana. The bank does not only provide financial services but also provides critical social support in education, sports development, the agricultural sector, poverty relief, health and environmental protection.
