Singer Becca Marks World Autism Day In Ghana With ‘Acceptable’ Awareness Walk

The World celebrated Autism Day on Thursday, April 2, 2015.

Ghanaian singer Becca, real name Rebecca Acheampong joined the children with autism at the Autism Centre in Kokomlemle in Accra for a talk to create what she described as an ‘acceptable’ awareness.

Autism is a mental condition, present from early childhood, characterized by difficulty in communicating and forming relationships with other people and in using language and abstract concepts.

She took to instagram to announce her involvement in the exercise, “Today is set aside for Autism Awareness. I joined a team from the Autism Centre for a walk to create ‘acceptance’ awareness for our lovely brothers and sisters with Autism. #ITISNOTADISEASE#AUTISMACCEPTANCE

The exercise which saw the singer and the children match through some principal streets in Accra to show love and support the people with autism.
