Samini launches “MTN Saminifest 2014” | From December 3 to 6

Award winning Dancehall act, Samini has launched his next big project, the MTN Saminifest.

Saminifest is an annual musical festival that seeks to bring together music lovers, particularly numerous fans all over the world, to celebrate his astounding works and also showcasing class-act performances from leading Ghanaian artistes.

Launching the festival on Friday at his restaurant and lounge, DanceStardom in Sakaman, Samini explained the concept, “I have always thought we need a program that reflects the massive opportunities in our industry and a great deal of tourism potential and revenue for our country and the Creative Arts Industry. And that is what I see in MTN Saminifest.

He said the festival coincides with his 10-year anniversary in music; meaning fans should expect nothing but great promise for our industry.

The celebrations will climax with a big concert dubbed MTNSaminifestLive on December 6, 2014 at the Trade Fair Centre.

Samini hinted that, for the first time in many years, he will be performing with the Trinity, made up of himself, K. K. Fosu and Kokovelli, a group he started the musical journey with.

Also featuring and performing live at various centres of the festival includes 4X4, Stonebwoy, Kaakie, R2bees, Episode, Kofi Kinaata, Edem, Guru, MzVee, Paapa  Yankson, Noble Nketiah, Jupitar, Koo Ntakara and many others.

Samini told GhanaGist.Com that, he will mention the rest of the performing artistes via the Festival’s official Facebook page; in the coming days.

The 4-day celebration commences on December 3 to December 6, 2014.  Activities marked for the celebrations are as follows:

  • Dec 3- Industry Workshop on Financial Planning at  Dancestardom
  • Dec 4- A Photo and Video Exhibition at Dancestardom
  • Dec 5- African Market Day- FoodFest& Pre-party @ Dancestardom
  • Dec 6- Saminfest Live (Main Concert) @ Trade Fair
