Highlife returnee Nana Quame has made an interesting revelation about his inability to feature other Ghanaian musicians on his songs, after releasing his collaboration song “Akye” with Dancehall act, Samini.
“It’s not easy getting artists to feature on my songs currently” he said on eTV’s Late Night Celebrity Show.
According to the artiste with seven albums to his credit, many of the artists don’t want to work with him anymore.
He said he even approached one of such musicians about doing collaboration but he was told in plain words, that ‘I don’t want to do a track with you because you did one with Samini’.
“I called on some artists to feature them and they kept dragging their feet. And I even approached one who opened up and said ‘I don’t want to do a track with you because you did one with Samini”.
Nana Quame therefore has this advice: “I keep telling people, let’s give Samini the respect. He brought up the Dancehall. He held it for all the young ones holding it now. Artists need to stop this beefing thing and do music. Let’s do the music.”
