Rex Owusu Marfo popularly known in music circles as Rex Omar is set to release a new song today Friday, June 19.
The song titled ‘Paapa’ admonishes all fathers, leaders and the general public not to think of what they can acquire for themselves today but envisage the future and build lasting legacies that would ensure a solid foundation for the next generation.
It is the first from the staples of the ‘Abiba’ hit maker in about 10 years of silence. Rex says ‘’For all this while I was off the scene, I got back to my source which is God. My music career was a calling and I realized at a point in my life that I was disconnected so it was important for me to have gone back to my source. Behind the scenes also I was going about my duties as a family man plus writing new songs and helping MUSIGA shape up’’.
Rex Omar is a Ghanaian Afro-pop with highlife and jazz musician who has several awards to his credit including Ghana Music Award-Best Contemporary Song of the year 2004 and a Kora Awards nominee in 2004.
He’s performed on several international stages including Cote’ D’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, France, Britain, Mauritius and India.
The father of four explains that he knows how responsible he must be as a father to secure a good and safe future for his children and advises all fathers not to relent on their efforts to building legacies for their children to thrive on someday.
