Live stage performances have been, and continue to pose a challenge to most artistes in the Ghana and though occasionally some try do so at events, only a few are able to nail it.
Aside from the artistes themselves not being able to deliver, the stress of getting a live band to perform with (not just any ordinary performance) and the cost involved are what most of them can’t bear.
But On Sunday 30th Of June 2013, Ghanaian International singer and performer, Stephanie Benson proved she is of a different class.
She launched her two latest singles “Goodbye” and “Good Feeling”, with a live stage performance to the admiration of her numerous fans.
Despite the fact that it was a very busy weekend, with a lot of outdoor events, the pool side of the Labadi Beach Hotel was filled with enthusiastic fans (both old and young) and a number of celebrities.
It wasn’t the first time Stephanie Benson was performing in Ghana, but it was the first time she was staging her own show in the country, and evidently her fans in Ghana loved every bit of her performance.
Appearing on stage with a 12-man band all “suited up”, Stephanie thrilled the audience with a gospel song as the opening act, and then moved on to perform the much-anticipated singles, “Good Feeling” and “Good Bye”.
Though most people had read or heard that she could play the guitar and keyboard, they had not seen the Diva play live. So, they were surprised when she played the guitar whiles performing, and the keyboard as well later on.
The stage set up, the band, their outfit and uniformity and Stephanie’s performance (dance moves and vocal prowess) wooed the guests and most of them, including the VIPs, couldn’t help but dance to the music.
The launch also saw the premiere of the music video for ‘Good Feeling’ directed by Abraham Ohene Djan of OM Studios.
Most patrons at the show left yearning for more.
Earlier, during a media interaction before the launch, Stephanie said she was thrilled to finally release singles for her fans down here.
Touching on her music school, Benson Entertainment Production Institute (BEP), she said “work is steadily ongoing at the location, and the school will begin operations before the end of the year.”
