The attention of the Central Regional Executives of the Musicians Union of Ghana has been drawn to a publication attributed to a group who call themselves “Concern Members of MUSIGA in the Central region”. This publication has been circulated on some media platforms in the country.
The regional Executives in the Central Region would like to make a clear statement to the general public that there is no such group known to the Union in the region.
The Regional Executives are not aware of any meeting held under the banner of such group and none of our card bearing members whose data exist in the region and also captured in the Union’s National data base has defected from the Union in the region.
It is worth indicating that the Union has a unique membership card numbering system which is inconsistent with most of the card numbers provided for this dubious exercise by the author of the said publication.
The fact is, the Agona Swedru District Vice Chairman of the Union (Mr. Vincent Ofosu) and others whose names were listed as members of the group when contacted denied vehemently their involvement.
In our view his publication is a public deceit.
We would therefore like to assure the general public that MUSIGA in the Central region is intact. We participated fully in all the PANAFEST activities that were held in the central region. We would be inaugurating another District branch of the Union by Next week Wednesday.
We would entreat the general public to disregard the said publication.
