Rastafari Council donates to Weija Leprosarium

The Rastafari Community in Ghana under the leadership of the Rastafari Council, Ghana has made a donation to the Weija Leprosarium. The donation was to mark the African Union Day. The items included clothing, bags of rice and water.

According to the Vice President of the Council, Nana Aswad Nkrabea, the decision to support the Leprosarium stems from the fact that the Council feels obliged to give back to the community especially on the occasion of the African Union Day.

Receiving the items on behalf of the inmates of the Leprosarium, the Prefect Madam Gladys Adobea expressed the appreciation of the leadership of the Leprosarium for the noble gesture by the Council.

The Weija Leprosarium is the headquarters which coordinates the activities of all the Leprosariums nationwide.

The Rastafari Council, Ghana comprises a number of Rastafarian mansions such as the Ethiopian World Federation, Twelve Tribes of Israel and Royal Ethiopian Nation among others. Among its numerous activities is the establishment of the Black Starline Cooperative Credit to foster wealth creation within the Rastafarian community.
