Ghana’s versatile and decent rapper, Okyeame Kwame has expressed happiness at the launch of the policy document regarding hepatitis in the country.
The document was launched during the commemoration of World Hepatitis Day at the GNAT Hall in Accra.
The 29 paged document aims at giving directions as to the provision of quality driven, results oriented, client focused and affordable Viral Hepatitis prevention and control services in order to improve the health status of all people living with, and at risk of viral hepatitis in Ghana.
Okyeame Kwame in his speech said, “I am happy this policy document has been launched at last. Someone once said ‘if you want to hide something from the black person, put it in a book’ but I don’t believe in that maxim. I’m therefore charging you all, to disprove this maxim by reading and understanding and working with the content of the document so as to adopt a positive lifestyle towards the fight against hepatitis.”
The Versatile man also entertained the audience by performing one of his hits that was relevant for the occasion.
Okyeame Kwame is also expected to screen and vaccinate over a thousand people at Kumasi this Saturday during his “Kick Hepatitis Out Of Ghana” campaign.
The project which is in collaboration with MDS-Lancet Laboratories has over the past 6 years screened and vaccinated close to 7000 people across the country.
Okyeame urges all Ghanaians to participate in this year’s exercise in the effort to kicking Hepatitis out of Ghana.
