Veteran actress, television host and CEO of Smarttys Management & Productions, Mrs Selassie Ibrahim celebrates another milestone. It is said that the great thing about getting older is that you don’t lose all the other ages you’ve been. May 19, 2015 marked the birthday of one of Ghana’s finest faces to have ever graced the silver screen.
Mrs Selassie Ibrahim is an actress, entrepreneur a mother and a philanthropist. She has over the years graced the silver screen of Ghana. Mrs Selassie, a producer cum actress, is a well-known figure in Ghana’s movie industry. She started acting at very a tender age. She had her screen debut in the 90s in ‘ My Sweetie,’ which gave her a breakthrough by starring alongside big names such as Grace Omaboe and Mc-Jordan Amatefio.
Speaking at her birthday party for her staff and friends at her Kanda based production house; Smarttys Management and Productions, she was beside herself with joy and expressed her gratitude to God for how far He has brought her and for adding another year to her age.
‘I am extremely grateful to God for all that He has done for me, my family and my staff. Adding a year to my age is simply a blessing and I thank Him very much for this day’.
Excited Mrs Salassie who couldn’t hide her joy also thanked her family, staff and friends for showing up and making her birthday celebration a memorable one.
In attendance were friends and family with thrilling performance from SP Kofi Sarpong and his choir. Nadia Buari, Henry Agbai, Roselyn Ngissah, Mr Randy Abbey and other celebrity friends were also there to support her.
Known for her infectious smile and dimple, she has appeared in over 80 productions, most of the titles she cannot recall. Among her movies are ‘The CEO’, ‘Shackles’, ‘Secret Burden’, ‘Yaa Asantewaa’, ‘Frozen Emotion’, ‘Malaika’, and ‘My Sister’s Honour’. She has acted in TV series like ‘ I Stand Accused’, ‘Broadway’ and a few more. She has also produced her own television series, ‘The Miser’ and a television talk show ‘Smart People’ which are all running on GTV.
She is also the host of ‘SMART PEOPLE’, a television talk show which seeks to give prominence to entrepreneurs who are doing amazingly well to inspire the youth in Ghana and beyond. The show over the years has interviewed the likes of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, Minister Sonnie Badu, Ron Kenoly, Mr Kofi Amoabeng, Azumah Nelson, Dr Lawrence Tetteh, Mr. Eddie Annan and a host of others.
