The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has met with the leadership of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation to discuss a range of collaborations in a number of areas. The meeting followed a courtesy call by the leadership of the Union on the newly appointed Director General of GBC, Dr Kwame Akuffo Annof-Ntow.
According to MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour, there is a longstanding relationship between the Union and the visit was to reignite those collaborations. He mentioned the MUSIGA Voices of Peace TV show which took place prior to the elections of 2012, the live broadcast of the MUSIGA Peace concert of the same year and the support the Union receives from GBC in its operations.
He expressed the hope that the two organizations which both have national development as a priority would find ways of collaborating.
On his part, the Director General of GBC Dr Annof-Ntow thanked MUSIGA for the visit and agreed that the two organizations have to map our common grounds they can collaborate on. He assured the Union that he would receive an update on the relationships between the two organizations with a view on what can be done in collaboration.
The MUSIGA President presented a copy of the MUSIGA Peace songs compilation and a plaque in honor of GBC’s support for the MUSIGA Grand Ball.
As a first step in the collaboration, MUSIGA will partner GBC to present a national peace concert at the GBC forecourt on December 5. The concert is sponsored by STAR Ghana.
