MUSIGA congratulates Diana Hopeson
The President, executives and members of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) congratulates Mrs Diana Hopeson on her appointment as the Intellectual Property Icon by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The appointment follows the celebration of the WIPO Day under the theme, “Powering Change: Women in Innovation and Creativity” in Accra.
WIPO Day is celebrated globally on April 26 with the aim of raising awareness of how Intellectual Property impacts our livers and to celebrate creators and innovators who contribute to the development and enrichment of our lives.
A letter signed by the Registrar-General Mrs. Jemima M. Oware says “the event is to focus attention on how innovation is making our lives healthier, better, safe and more comfortable through Health, Education, Agriculture among others and how innovation can attract investment, reward, creators and encourage more development and creativity.”
Mrs. Hopeson is the immediate past President of MUSIGA and the first woman President of the Union. She is currently a member of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) board and an adjunct faculty member of the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI’s) Music Production Department which is being run in collaboration with MUSIGA.
