MultiChoice Ghana sponsors Best Competitive Pricing Bank Category at 12th Ghana Banking Awards

Ecobank on Saturday 22 June 2013 won the Multichoice Ghana sponsored category at the 12th edition of the annual Ghana Banking Awards, Best Competitive Pricing Bank, held at the Event Haven at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre.

Ecobank received a certificate of recognition, plaque, fully installed DStv Single view decoder, GOtv decoder with three (3) months free subscription, two (2) DStv Mobile Walka 3.5, one (1) Wi-fi Drifta and two (2) USB Drifta devices as their prize package.

Multichoice Ghana sponsored the best competitive pricing bank category in line with its commitment to provide great entertainment anywhere at any time on a number of different technology platforms and devices at a competitive price.

Speaking on behalf of the Ecobank team at the awards, Mr. George Mensah-Asante, Executive Director of Domestic Banking of Ecobank, expressed his delight with the award and thanked Multichoice for sponsoring the category.

The Best Competitive Pricing Bank is considered to be the bank with the most competitively priced products such as interest rates on short, medium and long term loans, cost of maintaining accounts with the bank and interest on deposits. Ecobank also won the most coveted award on the night, Best Bank for the Year 2012.  The Bank of the Year is awarded to bank with the highest scores for customer survey, corporate social responsibility and financial performance.

On the evening, seventeen (17) awards were presented to banks for their outstanding performance in the year 2012. Lifetime Achievement Awards were also presented to three individuals for their diverse contribution to the development of the Ghanaian banking industry. They are Mr. J.S Addo, former Governor of Bank of Ghana, Dr. Kobina Quansahis, first Ghanaian Managing Director of Barclays Bank and Mrs. Stephanie Baeta-Ansah, former Managing Director of HFC Bank.

Under the theme, “Promoting ethics, integrity and compliance in the financial service sector, the Guest of Honor at the awards was the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Mr. Kesel Ato Forson and the chairman was Alhaji Asuma Banda, Chairperson of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Ghana.
