23-year-old Rapper Freda wins MTN hitmaker season 6 as the first female to claim the title since the inception of the competition.
She took home the ultimate cash Prize of GHc100,000 recording contract and a $5,000 video shoot contract fully sponsored by Content Connect Ghana.
The Grand finale of the event was held on Wednesday, November 1, at the National Theater in Accra.
According to results from the judges and general public presented at the event, Freda out-performed her tough contenders, Drew, Yaw Berk and Xila.
Drew came second, Yaw Berk claiming the fourth place spot with Xila occupying the fourth position.
Drew who became second for the MTN Hitmaker season VI walked home with Gh10,000 cash prize.
DJ Breezy the music producer and coach for Freda also took home a cash prize of 10,000 cedis.
There were two performances for all four finalists on the final night to prove their competences in becoming the next winner of MTN Hitmaker 6.
All contestants performed songs of renowned musicians and the final round gave each the opportunity to perform their own original songs.
Freda won the hearts of all three judges and a huge fraction of the audience with her stunning rap skills and stage craft. However, the judges found some inadequacies with the performances of Yaw Berk, Xila and Drew.
Thus giving Freda the leap into becoming the first female rapper to win MTN Hitmaker finals.
Berla Mundi and Giovanni Caleb both of EIB Network were hosts .
All contestants on the show went through the scrutiny of judges Francis Doku, Caroline Sampson and music producer Kaywa.
The competition began with 16 talented contestants with hopes of becoming the next Hitmaker, but Freda was announced winner on the final night.
Patrons were treated to interesting performaces from former winners of the competition; Koo Ntakra, Kidi, Kurl Songx, Kuami Eugene.
