It was the penultimate performance of the MTN Hitmaker, with only two weeks to go to the grand finale, the hitmakers and their beatmakers have begun lacing their boots for the final show down.
The beatmakers themselves have joined in the campaign for their contestants as they have taken to social media to encourage their followers to vote for the members of their team.
As we approach the finals, things were excitingly tweaked for the better, the contestants paired up in their teams to break out in pairs. Team Kaywa performed a very romantic version of Jordan Sparks “No air”.
Kidi and Abena had a perfect synergy, their personalities matched and they collaborated to deliver an amazing performance. When the performance ended with a peck on Abena’s forehead, the crowd went gay, it was a beautiful end to a beautiful performance.
Two of the competition’s most energetic performers, Oneday and Gunshot teamed up to double their energies on stage. The Team Richie members combined their powers and stage craft to deliver an exciting version of Shaggy’s “Angel”.
Then came the performance that got the crowd standing and chanting, the members of Team Magnom CJ and Yaw performed a version of Asem’s “Bye Bye” that was simply memorable.
Performing a Kaywa produced song, those boys simply meant business, they took a hit song, brought their personality and made it even better. Their dance moves synchronized, and they gave probably the best stage performance of that song.
This was a great taste of what to expect on the 30th of September, the top three contestants going into the grand finale are Abena, Yaw and three time break out winner Kidi. The bottom three contestants CJ, Gunshot and Oneday had to battle it out for a slot at the finals of the most original talent show in Ghana.
Whilst the top three freely performed with all the confidence in the world, the bottom three performed as though their lives depended on it. Oneday gave his most energetic performance ever as he performed his on song “3ha na 3bo so”.
Gunshot delivered his most engaging performance ever as he performed his self-titled track “Gunshot” and CJ was an extra confident version of himself. He delivered his own song titled “No. 1”
In the end, CJ’s extra confident performance secured him a place in the finals but Oneday and Gunshot had a new lease on life. Their hopes were kept alive by a new twist.
