Michael Essien’s transfer to AC Milan has been completed after he completed a medical on Sunday.
There had been initial delays after Dr. Rodolfo Tavana the head of the Milan medical team requested for a second look at the knee of the Ghana midfielder.
Chelsea and Milan reached an agreement on Friday to bring the defensive midfielder to Italy but reports indicate that Essien’s troubled knee history led to failure in his initial test.
Essien told Citi FM in 2013 that he had undergone nine different surgeries on his knees in the course of his career.
Meanwhile the player posted on his Twitter handle that all was clear for him to start playing for the Italian club.
This is what he twittered : @MichaelEssien “Haters will broadcast your failure but whisper your success.Medicals done, looking forward to start my new life with AC Milan.”
