Kwadwo Asamoah voted best left-back in Italy

Ghana and Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah has been adjudged the best left-back in the Italian Serie A for the 2013-2014 season.

The 26-year-old Ghanaian winger has been sidelined for three to four months after undergoing a successful surgery.

Asamoah received the award dubbed 2014 Gran Gala del Calcio AIC on Monday while walking with the aid of crutches. It is organised by the Italian FA.

He was overwhelmed with the honour and expressed his gratitude to his colleague team-mates
and former coach Antonio Conte for their immense support.

“I want to thank all my team-mates and the coach who converted me into that role. He constantly used me effectively in that position till I became perfect,” the Ghana international said.

Asamoah, who is the reigning Goal Ghana Player of the Year, will miss the Africa Cup of Nations 2015 in Equatorial Guinea.
