John Paintsil has announced his retirement from international football after failing to make the Black Stars squad for two years with 89 caps without scoring a goal.
The 35-year-old footballer is hanging his boots to continue pursuing a coaching certificate to be a full time coach.
“John Paintsil will like to announce his retirement from been a soccer player on international stage. I thank God for bringing me this far. It was a long journey from 1999 to 2016. Two Fifa World Cup tournaments and five Afcon [editions appearances] and 89 caps for Ghana,” he posted on instagram to announce his retirement.
