Artiste product branding and trade marking is the new trend in the African music industry. Most artistes earn lots of bucks from signing to existing product brands or creating and selling product brands to their fans and followers. But looks like some Ghanaian artiste do not understand branding.

A brand like ‘Sark’ was created some few months ago with lots of talks about its pricing. The brand comes with a baseball cap, tops and pair of jeans, sneakers and belt. But as I watch ‘The Chosen’ video featuring EL, D-Black, Sarkodie and M.anifest, GhanaGist.Com realised Sarkodie Obidi, the co-brand owner of SARK is wearing HERNES.
Is ‘Sark’ too expensive for Sarkodie to buy as well? Sounds funny but its critical to know. It’s startling because the next times you see him in an interview he will mention his brand and plead fans to visit his showroom and buy.
