The young and young at heart have been advised to take on volunteering work whilst looking for a permanent paid job. According to Samantha Wuta-Ofei, who does a life coaching session on YFM’s MPWR Show on Sundays between 8pm -10pm, the job market is tough therefore people need to take their destiny in their own hands.
On Sunday 26th October, 2014 the MPWR life coach spoke on volunteering as an alternative for those that are unemployed, in her own words Samantha said “Although you may not get paid as a volunteer there are several benefits to becoming one such as gaining industry insight, gaining valuable skills and experience, gaining an understanding of work structures, fulfillment, introductions to a new network of people including potential job leads and last but not least it adds to your CV.”
Miss Wuta-Ofei emphasized “The alternative to not doing any volunteer work if unemployed would mean that one would stay at home underutilized and unfulfilled. Samantha goes on to add that the challenge of not being able to find a job could actually be seen by some as an opportunity to birth new initiative because being in full time employment means you do not have the time to invest like you would have when you are not working full time.
Samantha Wuta-Ofei can be found on YFM 107.9 on Sundays around 9pm to 930pm. The show is hosted by the power duo Amma Aboagye and Emmanuel Gamor which a fun packed empowering show for the youth.
