Unlike other players in the gospel industry, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2013 Gospel Artiste of Year winner Herty Borngreat believes awards play very essential roles in their career.
“Awards are important because even when we go to heaven, God will reward each and every one of us according to our works. Even though what we are doing in this industry is not for men but for God, he pays us through men sometimes. So, to me, an award is some sort of encouragement. If I get it on any day, I will give all the glory and honour to God for letting his people accept the work I’m doing, Herty noted.
The ‘Bebrebe’ hit maker who is known in showbiz as Herty Rapper has recently come under unwarranted bashing from fellow gospel artist Gifty Osei and some other concerning some of the awards she picked up at the just ended VGMAs.
“People say I don’t deserve the awards I got but honestly I think it is their opinion. Everyone has his or her artiste that they like so I am not bothered. Most people say I don’t deserve the awards but deep down their hearts they know the award belongs to me,” Herty said.
Herty Rapper is the first Ghanaian gospel artiste to collaborate with several hip life artistes on her album.
