Channel O News- Live in Ghana For The First Time (GOtv & GOtv Plus Ch 70)

It’s a Channel O invasion in Ghana as the Original African music channel lands in the West African country for the first live shooting and recording ofO News Live, powered by Vodafoneat the Silver Star South Terrace.

O News Live is a celebrity entertainment show which brings viewers the latest in local and international celebrity news. Catch Ghana’s hottest artists R2BEES, Sarkodie, Kaakie, 4×4 and for the first time on Ghanaian soil, South African hip hop head AKA. There will also be some of the most renowned actors to look forward including Yvonne Okoro, Joselyn Dumas on the hot seat with Denrele.

This will be hosted and presented by Ghana’s own Channel O VJ J-Town, with his equally vibrant counterparts and VJs Flavia from Uganda and Nigeria’s Denrele. The show is set to keep crowds dancing the azonto with none other than superstar DJ and Channel O’s Bassment DJ Xclusive, on the ones and twos.

“We are excited because Ghana is playing a very significant part where African urban culture is concerned. One of the biggest dance trends in the continent, the azonto, is from Ghana, some of the hottest artists are Ghanaian and we also have some of the best actors from this country,” says Channel O Africa Manager Leslie Kasumba. “Recording O News Live in Ghana is for us, an investment in a market that we believe is key in advancing the African music scene and unearthing new talent. We are really thrilled to do be doing a showcase of GH culture.”

Tune into Channel O (Ch 70) on the following days Sunday 13th  at 18:00CAT, Monday 14th at 22:00CAT, Tuesday 15th  15:00CAT and Wednesday 16th at 22:00CAT for O News Live in Ghana!  This particular episode kicks off the show’s new season and will be broadcast on Sunday 13th October. Don’t forget to also tune in on Sundays at 21:00 CAT for Channel O’s Top Ten Most….with Denrele and Jokate.

Style (GOtv & GOtv Plus, Ch 26)

Amsale Girls: Brides spend up to $75,000 for an Amsale gown and the women who work in Amsale’s salon are just as extraordinary as the dresses themselves. Outside of work, these women are best friends, who support each other through good times and bad. But it’s all in a day’s work when you’re an Amsale Girl. This month, Debbye announces a competition with a cash prize to spur sales, but Emily struggles to make a sale with some challenging brides. Watch the Amsale Girls starting Thursday 10 October at 21:10 CAT.

My Fair Wedding: Celebrity event planner David Tutera specialises in helping a bride-to-be create her fairytale wedding in a short period of time. But there’s plenty of drama and conflict to deal with before the big day! As David and his posse of event coordinators dig into the planning of each new wedding, he faces brides at their boiling point, grooms who are running amok, and mother-in-laws who are out of their mind. This month, he helps a mother whose son is battling cancer and a gothic bride who wants an all-black wedding dress. Tune in to My Fair Wedding on Thursday 10 October at 20:15 CAT.

M-Net Movies Zone (GOtv Plus, Ch 2)

The Switch Aka The Baster – Starring Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston, The Switch tells the story of Kassie, whose best friend decides to have a baby through a sperm donor. Wally is devastated since he has had a long-time crush on her. The handsome donor in question never delivers his “package”, after a party and a drunken Wally intercept him. Several years later, Kassie returns with her son, Sebastian who shares more than a few traits with Wally, and he soon has suspicions that Sebastian might be his son. Catch The Switch on Saturday 12 October at 19:00 CAT.

The FIFA world cup is just around the corner and teams are booking their places to be at the home of football in Brazil.
