The film has been on hold since 2011, when Morgan Creek and Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, engaged in a legal battle over the biopic.

The company sued Tupac’s mother, claiming she had signed over the rights to Tupac’s music and story, and then tried to continue negotiating for creative control of the project, says.

The situation was settled out of court and Shakur is now an executive producer of the forthcoming project, the story says.

The story does not identify any actors who are slated to appear in the film.

On the film’s IMDB page, no cast and crew is listed, other than the production staff and the film’s writers.

In September, Morgan Creek Productions and Emmett Furla Films issued a press release that the biopic would be produced by James G.

Robinson, David Robinson and LT Hutton, along with Randall Emmett and George Furtla.

That press release said that the motion picture would be filmed in Atlanta and that it would be centered on the life of Tupac, with the press release referring to Pac’s “politically charged lyrics, inspired by his parents’ activism as Black Panthers in the ’60s and early ’70s, condemned governmental intrusion in black communities.”

Tupac was shot in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 7, 1996. He died six days later.
