South Africa’s acclaimed fashion retail shops in Ghana, Edgars, Foschini, and Markham are warming their way into Ghana’s showbiz industry.
Ahead of Val’s Day, the shops treated Ghanaian stars who attended the screening of Lydia Forson’s A Letter From Adam to a remarkable free shopping spree at the West Hills Mall.
It was the first of its kind and among stars, who were given the treat were actress; Afaglo, Nana Ama McBrown, Choirmaster of Praye fame, Lydia Forson herself and a host of others.
Edgars and Foschini both arrived in Ghana late last year and indications are that they are doing very well.
While Edgars is a subsidiary to Edcon, the largest clothing retailer in South Africa which operates in 154 stores across Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabawe; Foschini is the biggest known seller of sporting brands such as Adidas and Nike Inc in South Africa. It also operates 17 retailer brands ranging from women’s fashion to jewellery on the continent.
The outlets recognized how important appearance is to celebrities and as part of their contribution to the growing industry, decided to give them shopping treat.
