Telecommunication giant, Tigo Ghana on Saturday April 19, 2017 took over the Achimota Retail Centre with its Blue Light District event.
The event created a hang-out for customers and potential customers to experience the Tigo brand and newly improved high speed reliable internet through exciting activities.
People had to buy at least GHS2 credit to gain access to the free WIFI code
Some of the activities included, a Digital Photo Booth – where people could take 3 pictures with props and get them printed out automatically, goods market, games such as table tennis, mini football and a FIFA 2017 tournament. 64 persons registered online for the 8 game stations to determine the victor on the day.
Vendors at the Goods Market were Kandy’s Smoothies, Nallem Clothing, Wild Cherry, Bata Shoes, MV Accessories and Slay Cosmetics.
Frank Adotey Kpakpo, also known as ‘Wonderkid’ emerged the winner of the competition and took home GHS2,500.
The first runner up Yaw Boakye Amponsah and second runner up Emmanuel Lawson took home GHS1,500 and GHS700 respectively. There was also a fourth position which went to Kenneth Robinson Larbi. He took home GHS300.
The night was climaxed with a mini concert featuring Dancehall musicians, Epixode and Jupitar with DJ Vyrusky on the time table dishing out hit songs after his songs.
The Tigo Blue Light District was sponsored by Ghana eSports Association and Guinness Breweries Ghana.
