Data users on Airtel Ghana’s network have now been given an opportunity to roll-over unexpired data bundles. The move forms part of mechanisms to enhance customer experience on the network.
With the Data Roll Over product a customer who purchases a new bundle before his expiry date will enjoy data roll over i.e. he will add on to his previous bundle.
For example, in the event that a subscriber has 750MB in his data account that will expire on August 20, 2013 and tops up his bundle with 200MB valid for 30 days on August 15, 2013, the 200MB would be added to his 750MB and be rolled over with the new validity date of September 15, 2013.
The data roll over product is another first from Airtel.
This was announced by Marketing Director of Airtel Ghana, Ashish Malhotra when Big Brother Africa finalist, Elikem Kumordji paid a courtesy call at the head office of Airtel at Ridge in Accra.
Mr. Malhotra said with the continual increase in data usage by subscribers, Airtel had studied the usage pattern of users and wanted to ensure that they continue to enjoy their data services on the network in a transparent manner as regards the tariffs they pay.
Airtel is currently the only operator that offers end of call notification (EOCN) to its subscribers.
“We know a lot of people followed Elikem on Big Brother via their tablets and phones and they enjoyed the services. What we have done is to ensure that our users do not lose money on what they don’t use”, he said. Mr. Malhotra commended Elikem for being the first Ghanaian to stay in the Big Brother house till the end.
Elikem, who was in the company of his brother Troy and other managers commended Airtel for supporting BBA. He said he was delighted with the exposure and is going to use it not just for himself but for the greater good of society.
