GHANAIAN STARS SHINE AT AFRICAMAGIC VIEWERS CHOICE AWARDS

The inaugural Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, held on Saturday 13 March, at the Eko Hotel in Lagos did not only bring together African movie stars and industry players, but also, served as an opportunity for the stars to make a fashion statement with their dazzling gowns, glam accessories and debonair suits.

This did not exclude the Ghanaian stars who brought their shine to the event. Tipped as one of the best dressed women on the night, Ghanaian actress, Joselyn Dumas, sparkled in a black backless dress which also featured a lace insert. Sporting a pixie hair cut, Joselyn accessorized her dress with silver bracelets and a black clutch.

Nadia Buari and Majid Michel brought along their movie star appeal ensuring their presence was felt when they mounted the stage as guest presenters. Jackie Appiah, outdid Bubu Mazibuko, Genevieve Nnaji, Nolwazi Shange and Funke Akindele to win the Best Actress (Drama) category, one of the biggest individual awards at the AMVCAs.

Sensational Ghanaian singer, Efya, alongside other African musicians which included Tiwa Savage, Femi Kuti, Sauti Sol, and Banky W provided the AMVCAs with a rhythm of its own. Continue to watch AfricaMagic to catch all the glitz and glamour at the AMVCAs!

The offences of the inmates in the Las Vegas Jailhouse range from parking tickets to drug offences and murders. Dragons’ Den (Premiere Series 9): The popular business ideas contest, Dragons’ Den, is back for another exciting seasons. DStv viewers will see how entrepreneurs are invited to propose their business schemes to intimidating, industry experts, named the ‘Dragons’. Entrepreneurs have three minutes to introduce their ideas, the investment they desire and perform what they hope will be an engaging pitch before coming under the scrutiny of the Dragons. In series 9, some of the standout proposals include a fancy dress venture, an unusual use for a plastic egg, a car that thinks it’s a bike and a Mexican food range. Tune in to see how entrepreneurs pitch for the biggest cash investment for their business every Monday at 21:00 CAT.

ESPN Classic (DStv Channel 231)

Wimbledon, Decade of the 2000s: March in England is a world away from sunshine, strawberries and cream, but the sun always shines on Wimbledon. This month, particular focus is placed on what many tennis pundits reckon was one of the most memorable decades in the tournament’s long and glorious history: the ‘noughties’. In particular, a pair of men’s finals from 2007 and 2008, each featuring Roger Federer against Rafael Nadal, are widely regarded as being two of the greatest of all time, and both are available to enjoy again this month on Classic.
