It’s time to celebrate African music talents as the biggest names in African music converge at the Channel O Africa Music Video Awards scheduled for the Sisulu Square in Kliptown, Soweto, on Saturday November 30th. The Channel O Music Video Awards is one of Africa’s most prestigious awards with the key objective of recognizing some of the best African contemporary music talent the continent has to offer over the years.
In its tenth year, the awards promises to be spectacular with a line-up of currently the hottest African artistes: South African chart-topper AKA, award winning Nigerian artistes P Square, Wizkid, Da L.E.S., KCee of “Limpopo” fame and Lizha James, Kenyan Victoria Kimani and Zimbabwe’s Buffalo Souljah. Nigerian superstar Naeto C and South African rap star, AKA will be hosting this year’s award show and David Duncan Asare and his friend Michael Ayeh Amanor will be VIP guests as winners of the Live FM “Live It Up Channel O Promo”
An excited Asare Duncan, said “I am looking forward to exceptional performances by my favourite artistes, P Square, Wizkid and AKA” as well as the whole experience of the Awards show and the city of Johanesburg”.
The “Live It Up Channel O Promo” was a Live FM competition, partnership with Channel O, which fell within the stations philosophy of impacting on the lives of its listeners through on-air programming, experiential events and reward schemes. The competition required listeners above eighteen (18) years old to call into Live FM’s late afternoon drive time show, Route 919, to answer questions on the Channel O awards, the nominated Ghanaian musicians as well as Live FM’s programming. David emerged the winner out of six finalists after answering ten questions correctly.
David and Michael will get to interact with the Ghanaian musicians nominated for the 2013 Channel O Music Video Awards: Sarkodie, Jay So, D-Black, Joey B, E.L, Manifest, Kaakie, Chase, Fuse ODG and R2Bees.
