The maiden edition of the Fashion Icon Awards was held last Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the La Palm Beach Hotel in Accra with the objective to celebrate Ghanaian fashion industry and the promoters of it.
It was a night to celebrate designers, models and fashion enthusiasts. The event was graced by the crème de la crème in fashion and entertainment industry. They included, the British High Commissioner, UNAIDS Country Director – Girmay Haile, King of Igbo in Ghana – Chuks Ihenetu, Vlisco brand ambassador – Eugenia Tachie-Menson, Nana Tiaah Darkoa I, and Ministry of Tourism representative.
The rest were Selassie Ibrahim, Ruff-n-Smooth, DKB, Praye and designer Elikem Kumordzie and Selorm Galley both of Big Brother Africa The Chase.
Fashion parade with the likes of Allan David Collection, House of Eccentric and Mina Evans, also added some sparkles to the event while ChrisKata and her fellow hype man- Merqury Quaye from Sound City Ghana handled proceedings all night long.
Wiyaala Noella, Sala, Chemphe, Alberto, Hogan, Baba Spirit and Elaff entertained the patrons with music and comedy.
