Choice FM out, Adepa FM in, station acquired by Kwabena Dufuor & Bola Ray’s EIB Networks

Accra is warming up to welcome another Twi-speaking radio station, Adepa 102.3 FM, according to reports by enewsgh.com.

‘Choice FM, one of urban radio’s longest running brands has been acquired, enewsgh.com can authoritatively say.

The station, once one of Accra’s most listened-to dials, has changed hands.

EIB Networks, the media group owned by former Finance Minister Kwabena Duffour, and Broadcast personality, Kwabena Anokye Adisi (Bola Ray), has taken over the station.

The Choice FM acquisition will pave way for Adepa 102.3 FM, EIB’s latest baby, expected to compete in the Twi-speaking, mass market demographic.

Workers at the Dzorwulu-based station have since been informed of the new arrangement.

Test transmission for the new station will begin in the next few days, we can also confirm.

It is expected Adepa will go in big, recruiting some of the best hands available. Enewsgh.comis reliably informed some of the stations operating in that market will lose a good number of their staff to Adepa.

EIB operates Starr FM in Accra, Empire FM (Takoradi), Cool FM (Cape Coast), Hi FM (Koforidua) andAgoo FM (Nkawkaw). The company has also revamped Ultimate Radio in Kumasi, which will see a change in programming after tomorrow December 5.Choice FM_opt
