Ghana’s R2Bees failed to win the ‘Best African Act’ at the BET Awards 2013. The award which was co-won last year by Ghana’s Sarkodie and Nigeria’s Wizkid was won by Chocolate City rapper Ice Prince.
He was presented with the prize he lost last year at the BET Broadcast Centre honours before the main awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Ice Prince beat his compatriot and former winner 2face Idibia, South African’s Toya Delazy and Donald, Radio and Weasel from Uganda and R2Bees from Ghana.
He becomes the fourth Nigerian artiste to win the award since 2face and D’banj jointly won it in 2011 and Wizkid in 2012.
