Benny Bonsu returns to Ghana this week after 10 months away. She returns this week as a member of the NBA Africa team for the summer’s Sprite Ball Clinic 2014. This is an official NBA partnership with Coca Cola and Sprite.
In September 2013, Benny left Ghana to be the face of the successful and epic 60-minute TV shows “Guinness Raise Your Game”, hosting alongside Eddie Kadi and Fabrice Muamba.
The entertainment filled football themed show was a first for African TV, highlighting amazing football stories across Africa with celebrities, music and comedy in a live studio set, reaching over 200 million viewers across the continents.
After a successful first season, which was aired on Viasat 1 Ghana and Metro TV in Ghana, Benny has gone on to be the face of NBA basketball on Trace Sport Stars on DSTV and is now working on a exciting new show to be launched on a new channel across Nigeria at the end of 2014.
On her return to Ghana, Benny says, “I have missed Ghana and I am excited to be returning for a week. Basketball is my first love, I have been involved with it in the UK and USA for a long time and being able to give back in Ghana is amazing. We have a vision for basketball on this continent and I am pleased that NBA, Sprite, Coca Cola, Miami Heats champion Chris Bosh and the Ghana Basketball Federation have come together to make it a reality. It is inspiring.”
Fresh from the festivities and filming in Brazil, Benny will be in town with the NBA Africa team, three times Basketball Japan champion/ Great Britain Men’s Basketball power forward Dzaflo Kwame Larkai and her brother Benson Mensah-Bonsu.
