Algerian Riyad Mahrez Becomes First African To Win PFA Player Of The Year

This is history. Pure history as Algerian winger and Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez has been voted as the Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year, becoming the first African footballer to win it.

Algerian playmaker has been in a form of his life at Leicester City in the English league this season.

His Scintillating form has earned him 17 goals and 11 assists in 34 league matches to take his club to the point of the title with three games left to be played.

He picked the award ahead of his fellow Leicester City teammates Jamie Vardy and N’Golo Kante, Tottenham forward Harry Kane, Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil and West Ham United midfielder Dimitri Payet.
