Ghana have lost the bid to host the Continent’s biggest football tourney in 2017, Africa Cup of Nations finals.
2012 co-hosts tournament Gabon won a vote by the Confederation of African Football’s executive committee in Cairo.
Also missing out is Algeria. CAF did not make details of the voting immediately available.
The original hosts Libya withdrew in 2014 when a civil war brought football to a standstill in the country.
Gabon will use four venues Libreville, Franceville, Port Gentil and Oyem for the 16-team tournament, set for January 2017.
